LignoSat launched first wooden satellite to combat space debris; know its significance, challenges and more details

Kyoto University and JAXA launched LignoSat, the world's first wooden satellite, on November 5, 2024. The satellite, made from magnolia wood, aims to test the viability of using wood as a sustainable alternative to metals in satellite construction and reduce space debris by burning up completely upon re-entry into Earth's atmosphere.
