Karnataka’s Big Leap In Tech: Innovation Districts Announced By CM Siddaramaiah At Bengaluru Summit
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced the establishment of three dedicated global innovation districts in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Belagavi at the 27th Bengaluru Tech Summit. These innovation hubs will cater to Global Capability Centres (GCCs) under India’s first GCC policy, aimed at fostering growth and creating an industry-ready workforce through initiatives like 'NIPUNA Karnataka.' Highlighting Karnataka’s tech leadership, Siddaramaiah mentioned key MoUs signed with global giants like Microsoft, Intel, and IBM to skill one lakh individuals. The Bengaluru Global Innovation District will anchor the Knowledge, Well-being, and Innovation City (KWIN City), making it a global hub for research and development. With a cluster-based approach, the state aims to boost fintech in Mangaluru, EV and drone advancements in Hubballi-Dharwad, and PCB manufacturing in Mysuru, promoting balanced growth. Through programs like 'Beyond Bengaluru,' the government is extending tech benefits to rural areas, enhancing education, agriculture, and citizen services, while building robust infrastructure for Karnataka's tech-driven future.
