Kalki 2898 AD beats SRK's Jawan after Week 1

Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD amassed Rs 393.4 crore in its first week, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. Despite its impressive run, it trails behind RRR's Rs 477 crore and KGF 2's Rs 523.75 crore. With no major releases ahead, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to continue its box office success.

The way things are panning out right now, the history of box office will be written in two parts; Pre Kalki and Post Kalki. As the film is just not interested in taking a breather at the ticket counter. Kalki 2898 AD released on 27th June in India and since then, the buzz about the film has refused to die down and it just completed its eight-day first week at the box office, amassing a total of Rs 393.4 crore, as per Sacnilk. With the weekend coming and no major film lined up, the collection of Kalki 2898 AD is only expected to go higher and higher. The run for Kalki 2898 AD has been such that it has managed to beat the Week 1 collection of Shah Rukh Khan ’s biggest hit Jawan. Just like Kalki 2898 AD, Jawan also had an extended weekend and by the end of week 1, it had minted about Rs 389.88 crore as per Sacnilk. Kalki 2898 AD managed to beat Jawan by a couple of crores, but failed to conquer two of the biggest hits of Indian Cinema and they are SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan’s RRR and Prashanth Neel-Yash’s KGF 2 . While RRR had a regular 7 day Week 1 at the box office, the film went on to mint Rs 477 crore with nearly Rs 300 crore coming from Telugu version. While KGF 2 also had an 8-day week as the film released on Thursday and collected Rs 523.75 crore with Rs 268 crore coming from its Hindi version. Kalki 2898 AD is geared up for its second part, which would see Ashwatthama ( Amitabh Bachchan ) teaming up with Bhairava/ Karan ( Prabhas) to take on Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan).
