Junaid Khan, Aamir Khan's son, shared insights on transitioning from stage to screen in an exclusive interview with ETimes. He finds film sets chaotic compared to the rhythmic flow of stage performances. Despite his debut in Maharaj, he continues his stage work and is working on films with Sai Pallavi and Khushi Kapoor.

Superstar Aamir Khan ’s son Junaid Khan made a very confident debut with Aditya Chopra and Siddharth P Malhotra ’s Maharaj, which was based on 1862 Maharaj Libel Case . Though this might be Junaid's first stint in front of the camera, he has been acting on stage since 2017 and has been part of multiple plays. Despite making a transition to films, he has a play lined up in September. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Junaid opened up about the difference between acting on stage versus acting in movies and what he prefers more. "Acting is acting but there are differences. I'm more familiar with the stage. There are technical differences which one needs time to get used to. During a play when you rehearse and you finally go on stage to perform, there is a certain rhythm and once it starts, you just follow it. And if you have like 5-7 minutes between scenes you'll have exactly that because everything is going according to that rhythm.” “But film set is mostly chaotic until somebody shouts standby, rolling and action! And then you're like, 'oh okay now it's me'. And there's silence. I felt films are harder, because as stage actors, you tend to always open out and having a director to help you out, always works” he added. Junaid has already started work on this third film right now, he’s doing one opposite Sai Pallavi and another one with Khushi Kapoor, which is a remake of South film Love Today .
