Three doctors flout waste norms, booked

Three doctors have been booked for allegedly not displaying certificates of biomedical waste management arrangements in their hospitals at Gir Gadhada village of Gir Somnath. A team led by Dr Vipul Dumatar, in charge taluka health officer of Gir Gadhda, undertook an inspection drive in hospitals in Gadhada on Thursday. During the drive, the team noted that hospitals of Dr Vivek Hirapara, Dr Harshad Ribadiya and Dr Hardik Buha had not displayed authorisation certificate issued by Gujarat Pollution Control Board, certificate of membership of common biomedical waste disposal facility as well as certificate of hospital staff having been trained for segregation of biomedical waste. Dumatar filed a complaint with the police, based on which the doctors were booked.
