New initiatives launched to combat spam and cyber fraud in India

The Department of Telecom, Trai, and private telcos are intensifying efforts to combat spam and unsolicited commercial communication. Initiatives include AI-led spam detection by Airtel and blockchain technology by Vodafone Idea. Over one crore fraudulent mobile connections have been disconnected, with new rules to trace messages and block non-whitelisted web links.
