Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has once again secured the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings following his six-wicket haul against Bangladesh in Kanpur. This marks Bumrah's second stint at No. 1, having first achieved the ranking in February 2024, making him the only Indian fast bowler to top the Test rankings. He overtakes teammate R Ashwin, who had previously held the position after a stellar series against Bangladesh.

In the batting rankings, India's Yashasvi Jaiswal continues his meteoric rise, moving up to third after just 11 Test matches. His match-winning performance in Kanpur earned him the Player of the Match award. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli has climbed back into the top 10, now holding the sixth position.

Sri Lankan players have also made significant strides, with left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya reaching seventh place after his dominant performance in the 2-0 series win over New Zealand. Kamindu Mendis, after scoring an unbeaten 182 in Galle, has moved up to No. 11 among Test batters.

These shifts in the rankings highlight the impressive performances of both Indian and Sri Lankan cricketers in recent matches.
