BREAKING: MHA declares ISIS-inspired outfit Hizb-Ut-Tahrir a terrorist organization under UAPA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday officially designated Hizb-Ut-Tahrir (HuT), an ISIS-inspired pan-Islamic radical group, as a terrorist organization under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). With this move, Hizb-Ut-Tahrir becomes the 45th organization to be added to the UAPA First Schedule. Founded in Jerusalem in 1953, Hizb-Ut-Tahrir is known for its radical agenda of establishing an Islamic state and caliphate on a global scale, including within India. The MHA described the group as a severe threat to India's democratic structure and internal security, emphasizing its aim to overthrow democratic governments through jihad.
