Zomato Or Swiggy IPO: Where Should You Invest Your Money?
As Swiggy steps into the IPO arena, a clear comparison with market rival Zomato is now on the table. Experts are weighing in on whether Swiggy’s IPO will take precedence over Zomato’s already-listed shares. Avinash Gorakshakar, Head of Research at Profitmart Securities, favours Zomato, citing the company’s operational improvements, cost-cutting measures, and the near break-even status of its Blinkit business. He believes Zomato has a strong growth runway, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, making it an attractive medium-term investment. On the other hand, Dinshaw Irani, CEO of Helios Capital, views both Zomato and Swiggy positively, noting that India’s expansive food delivery market can support multiple players. He mentions that the demand for food delivery and quick commerce is on a rapid rise, with these platforms even capturing market share from e-commerce. Helios Capital is bullish on both players, expecting strong performance from each over the long term.
