Apple aims to end lost luggage nightmare with new feature

In response to the frequent problem of lost luggage, Apple is introducing a new feature to help travelers track their bags. The feature, part of the upcoming iOS 18.2 update, allows users to share the live location of their AirTag-equipped luggage with third parties, including airlines. Through the “Share Item Location” feature in the Find My app, users can generate a shareable link that provides live updates of their luggage's location on an interactive map.
