Russian Navy Ships Arrive To "Show Backing" To Venezuela After Cuban Stopover, US Sees No "Threat"

Two Russian naval ships docked in the Venezuelan port of La Guaira on July 2 after exercises in the Atlantic Ocean. Moscow said the port call was part of exercises to “show the flag” in remote, important regions after an initial stopover in Cuba.It said that the frigate Admiral Gorshkov and oil tanker Academic Pashin, both from its Northern Fleet, docked in La Guaira.Meanwhile, US Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) said it knew of the possible visit and that it was not a threat.
