Coal India production drops 1% in September to 50.9 MT

State-owned CIL's coal production saw a slight decrease of 1 per cent to 50.9 million tonnes in September compared to the same month last year. However, from April-September, production increased by 2.5 per cent, totaling 341.5 million tonnes. Despite a production rise to 773.6 million tonnes in 2023-24, CIL fell short of its 780 million tonnes target.
