LOVERRO: Anniversary event more party than wake with Capitals staying in town

The Washington Capitals lost their home opener Saturday night, 5-3, to the New Jersey Devils, which was not the icing on the cake everyone hoped for while the organization celebrated its 50th anniversary. But it was still a party last week at the Capital One Arena - a 50th birthday.
