Who is Sanjiv Khanna, the successor to CJI Chandrachud?
Justice Sanjiv Khanna has been appointed as the 51st Chief Justice of India, set to take oath on November 11, following the retirement of Justice D Y Chandrachud. Justice Khanna, who will serve for just over six months until May 13, 2025, has a notable legal background, beginning his career in 1983 and becoming a permanent judge of the Delhi High Court in 2006. He was elevated to the Supreme Court in 2019.
