Who is new CJI Sanjiv Khanna who will take over after Chandrachud

Justice Sanjiv Khanna will take oath as the 51st Chief Justice of India on November 11, succeeding CJI DY Chandrachud. With a significant history including key rulings on electoral bonds and Article 370, Justice Khanna will serve until his retirement on May 13, 2025. Justice Khanna was elevated as a Judge of the Supreme Court on January 18, 2019.​
