Mumbai: Kickboxing Teacher Sexually Assaults Minor Girl Multiple Times After She Refuses Sexual Favours in Byculla, Arrested

The Mumbai Police recently arrested a boxing teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in the city on multiple occasions. Police officials said that the accused teaches kickboxing to students in Byculla and has been sexually assaulting the minor girl for the past four months. Cops also said that the accused taught self-defence to the victim using kickboxing methods. As per a report in the , the accused used to teach the girl in the refuge area of the residential tower where the victim lived with her family. Officials said that the accused teacher sexually assaulted the minor girl on several occasions between February and June. Byculla police officials said that the accused sexually assaulted the girl after she refused sexual favours. In her complaint, the minor girl told the police that the accused teacher sexually assaulted her at a studio where he would take his other students to teach them boxing. Acting on the girl's complaint, the police registered a case and booked the accused teacher under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Following the complaint, the police arrested the accused the same day and later produced him before a court. After he was presented before the court, the accused teacher was sent to police custody until July 5. The police are investigating to ascertain if the accused teacher sexually assaulted other girls, too.
