Oceanographers led by people from the Schmidt Ocean Institute in California have recently made an exciting discovery. During a 28-day expedition in July and August in the Southeast Pacific, 900 miles off the coast of Chile, the team came across an underwater mountain that is home to about 20 previously unknown species. However, this identification can take several years.
