Haryana Elections Results: All set to score a hatrick, the BJP has won 46 seats of Haryana's 90 Assembly seats, while its still leading in two seats. This time, the BJP has proven the exit poll prediction wrong. The Congress which was confident of scoring a win this time in Haryana is staring at another loss with lead on only 37 seats. The JJP that won 10 seats in previous elections, could not even bag one seat this time. The election results have thrown several surprises and shockers this time. Here's a list of most shocking setbacks witnessed in Haryana Assembly Election Results 2024.1. Amardeep DhandaThe sitting JJP MLA from Haryana's Julana Assembly seat was defeated by Congress candidate and Olympic wrestler Vinesh Phogat who defeated BJP’s Yogesh Kumar in Julana constituency. The seat which saw a close battle between BJP and Congress was held by JJP’s Amarjeet Dhanda who won it in the 2019 polls, when the party emerged as the kingmaker in forming the government and allied with the BJP. The Julana seat was held by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) from 2009 to 2019.2. Dushyant Chautala From the Uchana Kalan assembly seat in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) candidate Devender Chatar Bhuj Attari defeated Congress’ rival Brijendra Singh by a margin of 32 votes, while sitting MLA and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala landed on the fifth spot with mere 7950 votes.3. Abhay ChautalaIn a major blow to Chautala family, Abhay Chautala the outgoing MLA of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from Ellenabad seat won the seat in the 2014 elections by defeating Pawan Beniwal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Today, Chautala, was defeated by Congress candidate Bharat Singh Beniwal by a margin of 15,000 votes.4. Pradeep Narwal The 33-year-old Dalit leader who got a ticket from the Bawani Khera Assembly constituency of Haryana on the recommendation of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, lost to Bharatiya Janata Party’s Kapoor Singh by 21,874 votes.Narwal is a core member of Priyanka Gandhi's team, and is the secretary incharge of western Uttar Pradesh. Narwal, a JNU alumnus, who is also a son of a former paramilitary jawan, hails from Sonipat. 5. Amit Sihag INLD's Aditya Devilal defeated Congress leader Amit Sihag by 610 votes on Haryana's Dabwali assembly seat. Aditya Devilal polled 56074 votes compared to outgoing MLA Amit Sihag's 55464. Both Amit and Aditya belong to the Chautala family. 6. Capt. Abhimanyu Indian National Congress leader Jassi Petwar was leading as of 6:18 PM in the evening by 12578 votes. The BJP leader Captain Abhimanyu Singh Sindhu is trailing at 72223 votes. Abhimanyu who is former Haryana finance minister and BJP leader is trailing from Narnaund constituency.7. Uday Bhan In a major setback to Congress party, the Haryana Congress president Udai Bhan lost from Hodal Assembly constituency by a margin of over 2,500 votes. Bhan had won the Hodal seat in the 2014 Assembly polls, but lost to the BJP's Jagdish Nayar in the 2019 election. He is serving as Haryana Congress chief since 2022. 69-year-old, who is a four-time MLA, lost to BJP's Harinder Singh.
