Southwest monsoon withdraws, northeast monsoon commences in Andhra Pradesh

The IMD announced the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon, initiating northeast monsoon rains over southeast peninsular India. Andhra Pradesh is expected to experience normal to above-normal rainfall from October to December. A well-marked low-pressure area in the south Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression, affecting regions including Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
