Schools Closed Today in Chennai, Bengaluru Due to Heavy Rainfall

Chennai School Holiday Today LIVE: Several Southern states are witnessing incessant rains. Owing to the same, state government has directed the respective district officials to announce school holiday. Today i.e. on October 16, schools are closed in Tamil Nadu's Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and other districts. In Karnataka, a school holiday is declared in Bengaluru as Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the city.Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh announced a three-day holiday for schools. The schools and colleges in the state are closed till October 17. IMD has issued a Red Alert for October 16 in several parts of Tamil Nadu.
