CBSE denies reports on inability to conduct Bi-Annual board exams

Listen to Story The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has denied claims that it informed the Ministry of Education (MoE) about the impossibility of conducting board exams for classes 10 and 12 twice a year under the current academic schedule. On July 1, CBSE rejected claims reported in the media that it had informed the Ministry of Education about limitations regarding bi-annual board exams. CBSE clarified that these media reports were incorrect and lacked any basis in their communications with the ministry. This clarification has been issued on X, (formerly known as Twitter.) This is in reference to the news article covered in Hindustan Times – Delhi edition dated 30/06/2024 titled- `Cannot conduct Board Exams twice a year :CBSE’ (Fareeha Iftikhar) . A few other news media have also covered similar news story. It is informed that the news item is totally baseless. There is no such communication between CBSE and the Ministry of Education so that CBSE cannot conduct board exams twice a year. Further, a meeting to discuss the pathways to implement the recommendations of National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) and also to provide guidance was convened by CBSE on 25.06.2024 with its stakeholders so that recommendations could be implemented effectively. It is reiterated that CBSE is committed to the implementation of the recommendations of NEP 2020 and NCF-SE.
