Opposition accuse of switching mic off, Speaker says 'no button here'

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed frustration with the false perception spread by Opposition MPs that he turns off microphones. He clarified during the discussion on the motion of thanks to the President's address that it is secretariat officials who control microphone activation when a member's name is called. He emphasised that this procedure is standard for all parties in the Speaker's chair.
