Prepare for a captivating blend of drama and romance in the upcoming season.

Season 1 of the Oshi No Ko premiered on the 12th April of 2023, and took the anime world by storm. Adapted from the manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari , Oshi No Ko is a powerful anime that satirizes and criticizes the darker side of the entertainment industry, under the cover of a fun story about reincarnation and romance. With season 2 releasing in a day, here's a recap on all that happened in the first intallment. The season kicked off with a 90-minute long episode about Gorou Amamiya, a doctor, finding out his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, is pregnant and that he needs to help her deliver the baby in secret. On the day of delivery, he gets murdered by one of her stalkers, and is reborn as one of her twin children, Aqua. His sister, Ruby, was also reincarnated, from his old patient Sarina Tendouji. At the age of 4, Aqua watches his mother get killed by the stalker that killed him in his previous life, and comes to the realization that his father must've been the one who orchestrated this. Aqua swears to find out who his father is and ruin his life. 12 years later, Ruby is training to be an idol for the same group Ai was a part of, while Aqua joins a dating show in hopes of getting closer to a director who was friends with Ai. He meets Kana Arime, an old friend whose acting career he helped improve, and Akane Kurokawa, preventing the latter from suicide after she received hate online. Kana and a famous livestreamer from the same dating show, Memcho, go on to join Ruby in the idol industry, but Kana soon ends up quitting due to feeling insecure. The season ended with Aqua joining a 2.5D play, since his mother and father met at the theatre group performing it. Unbeknownst to him, Kana and Akane are also a part of the play, and their strong rivalry will make things difficult for him. The anime has stayed mostly faithful to the manga so far, so it's likely that it will continue to follow the plot of the comic book. Season 2 will be based on the Tokyo Blade arc, which focuses on the play Aqua is a part of. Aqua will most likely learn more about his mother and father through meeting veterans from the theatre group, and he'll have to mediate between Kana and Akane as they fight, not only to become the better actor, but also for his heart in a thrilling love triangle. Season 2 will premiere on July 3 and will reportedly feature for 13 episodes. Season 2 Episode 1 will premiere on Tokyo MX, B11, KBS Kyoto, TV Aichi, and other local TV networks in Japan. It will also be available for streaming on platforms such as ABEMA, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, Apple TV+, and HIDIVE.
